MY SKIN TYPE: Oily
Hey guys! I thought I would do a review for you today on one of the products I purchased in a haul a couple weeks ago. It's the Purity Made Simple cleanser from Philosophy, and I've been using it for a little over a month. (My haul post went up late!)
What it is supposed to do is 1. Remove make-up 2. Cleanse your face& deep clean pores. and 3. Tone your face as well.
DOES IT ACTUALLY REMOVE THE MAKE UP?
Yes! HOWEVER, I will say, I always take my eye make up off with a separate make up remover. I feel like if I were to do it all
together, I would just be dragging eye shadow, liner, mascara, etc over other parts of my face which I don't want to do. For
reviews sake, I did try it with eye make up and it worked great. It got eyeshadow, eyeliner, liquid liner, and mascara off completely.
Water proof mascara--not so much. It came off a little but I still had to use something else.
The reason it can remove make up so well, is because of the ingredient in it called sodium tri sulfatdeceth. Which is used in most
removers to dissolve make up.
It is PH balanced, so that's why they claim you don't have to tone afterwards, but I personally love the feel of a toner, so I do so.
Some other ingredients it is made with is Meadowfoam, which is supposed to help hydrate the skin so you do not get that "tight"
after feeling in your skin. (Which I don't! HOORAY!) and it contains infusions of sage, chamomile, and carrot.
It has 12 natural oils in it, to help hydrate. I think they did this so it balances out some of the sulfates contained in this product,
beings sulfates tend to dry your skin out, so it is not TO moisturizing, but they def. balance out and just leave your face feeling
REALLY, REALLY clean and smooth, and not tight, dry, stripped, etc.
I've also noticed after I am done washing my face, it has a little bit of a glow to it, and it makes my skin tone look more even.
TEXTURE AND SMELL:
The texture is pretty "liquidy" and has a small lather to it. It feels really soft and refreshing, and you only need a small amount.
The smell is SO GOOD, this is something i've heard of people loving or hating about it though. It's not overwhelming it's pretty
subtle in my opinion but the smell is just very natural and "spa" like.
So, so far I am really loving this cleanser. I haven't had any bad reactions to it, and i've noticed any break outs I had, start to clear
up. It does AWESOME at cleaning your face, and i'm really enjoying it! I think I found my new go-to cleanser. :)
Have you tried this product? What do you think of it? :)
