Small Ulta Haul! Urban Decay, Smashbox, and NYX

Hey ladies! As promised here is my Ulta Haul:) I didn't get as much as I would have liked but I did get a few really good products.

Urban Decay single eyeshadows in "Flash" and "Mushroom" 19.00$

Flash is a bright purple. Rich in pigment, looks gorgeous with brown eyes, and not over glittery like most UD shadows. I have been pairing it with Grifter to give it a more intense look. FOTD coming soon!

Mushroom is a really pretty Gunmetal/ Taupe color with specks of silver shimmer in it. It blends out really easily. I'm still playing around with this one, and to which look and colors I like best with it.

But I am LOVING Urban Decays new formula they are using in their eyeshadows. They have been pretty much revamping everything, and i'm a huge fan. They feel a lot smoother, do not have as much fall out, the pigment is still awesome, and they have a great satin. I also feel like they are a little bit easier to blend, but that's just my opinion! Let me know what you think!

Big Fatty Mascara
This mascara is another one of their cosmetics Urban Decay has re-formulated. I have never tried the original Big Fatty, so I don't really have much to compare it to, although I do like it better then their Super Curling Mascara and the Cannon Ball one as well..and I really like them! Ulta still has the original Big Fatty on display, so I did a brush comparison and I definitely like the newer version better. It is smaller, it has a spiked end so you can really get those inner and outer lashes. The bristles on it make it easy for the lashes to separate and fan out. As far as texture, it's really nice. It has jojoba oil in it to help moisturize the lashes which I LOVE. A big fear I have with mascaras, is it drying out my lashes and making them brittle. I do not see this happening with this mascara. It's very, very moisturizing so that is a huge plus in my book. How does it perform? It gives a little length to your lashes but if anything it makes them appear thicker, hold a curl longer, and it makes it look like I have double the amount of eyelashes.

Next I got:

The Smashbox Try it kit:

It features the

photo finish primer- I haven't tried this one enough to where I can give a true opinion. I will though!

eye pencil in onyx- I absolutely love this eyeliner! It goes on smooth, it did not smudge, the pigment was great, and it didn't irritate or itch my eyes.
Would I buy more of these eyeliners?
YES!

hyperlash mascara- great for seperating and lifting the lashes. VERY lengthening.
Would I buy the full size?
No. My eyelashes are extremely long. I go for mascaras more for the look of fuller/thicker lashes, and to seperate. If you want some lashes, this might be a good try for you though!

photo finish eye primer- One of my favorite eye primers! I had actually previously owned a full size of this, and ran out a while ago, so I was happy to get it in this kit. It does everything a primer should do, it prevents the shadows from creasing, keeps them vibrant all day, and I like the consistency of it. It reminds me of the lorac eye primer, if you have ever tried that one!

Would I buy the full size?
Yes. Although it dries a little quicker then some other primers, I can't find anything else wrong with it, and i'm happy with the outcome.

lipgloss in "Illume"-
These lipglosses are from the "Lip Enhancing" line, which I have a few of, and I love them. It's a nice sheer color, with subtle gold flecks. It's to TOO sticky, and it does have a light vanilla scent to it.

L- Onyx liner(love love love it) and Illume.

Would I buy the full size?
Yes! It's a great every day color, and I feel like I will get a lot of use out of it.

In addition to the kit, from Smashbox I also got a lipgloss from the same line, in the color "35MM"
I couldn't help it! It was literally calling to me. I don't have any lip products in this color, and although it's different for me, I really like it. It's a beautiful bronzey rose color, with the tiniest little sparkles in it that you can't even feel on your lips. I totally forgot to swatch this, but it will be in my favorites that I am posting very soon:)

The last item I picked up was from NYX. It was one of their "Slide on, Glide on" liners, in the color dark brown, and this is something I have heard bloggers and youtubers rave about..womp womp womp. Maybe I got a bad liner? I'm not sure. But it made my eyes beat red, itch like crazy, and totally irritated them. Which sucks! I put it on my hand next to UD's "Demolition" and it was a dupe. The UD one, actually rubbed off my hand first.

Have you tried the NYX eyeliners? What did you think?

Mini drugstore haul! and I am BACK!!

Hey Lovelies! Good grief. I've been M.I.A for 2 weeks, and I apologize. I was stressed out from work, and had some personal issues I was going through with myself, so anytime I had off from work, I just needed to clear my head and relax. (My husband&I are fine, it had nothing to do with him!) I was just a little stressed out and feeling down, but I am back! And I have a drugstore haul:)

UP&UP Kabuki Brush-
I haven't used a pressed powder in forever, and recently purchased one to try out. I wanted to apply it with a kabuki brush beings I was just using it to se liquid foundation in my T-zone. Beings it's not an every day brush I use, I didn't want to spend a ton of money on it. So while I was at Target in of course the make-up section, I was on the hunt for one. I have felt the ELF one before..didn't like how it felt. It felt a little flimsy. My intentions were to actually get the eco-tools one or the real-techniques one..felt the Real Techniques one..didn't like that either, and they were sold out of the eco-tools one. I have not ever tried anything from UP&UP.. but i'm glad I decided to pick this one! I absolutley love it. It's amazing. I think it was only around 4-5$ and it is SO soft. The bristles are extremely full and dense. I've only had it for a week but it hasn't shed yet. I def. suggest checking it out!

E.L.F eyeshadow brush $3.00-

I have tried blushes from e.l.f but thats it. Researching some of their products, this seemed to be really popular. A lot of people really seem to love their eyeshadow brushes. I just got one, to test it out, because like I said above I have felt their kabuki brush, and also their powder brush..was not a fan. I know they are generally either 1 or 2 dollars, so what can you expect. Some products are gunna be great, some are not. Anyways, i'm a fan of the brush. I have a ton of eyeshadow brushes, but I have been using this one since I got it, because 1. Its newest to me and 2. It's a pretty good brush. Nothing amazing, but it does the job and it's inexpensive. I use it to pack shadow on my lid, and overall I am pretty happy with it. I would suggest it, and definetley to those who are just starting out or to those who don't want to spend a fortune on brushes and still get good results!

E.L.F brow gel and clear mascara duo 3-4$

Also curious to other elf products besides the blushes I have used I picked up this as well. I generally just use a cheap clear mascara anyways to set my brows, so I figured I had nothing to lose! At first I didn't like it. I put the same amount i've always used with any other brow gel on, and my eyebrows felt dry and crunchy. You could also tell I had something on them. Not a fan of that. I stopped using it for a couple days and picked it up again to try. I used a lighter hand and voila. I like it now. So be careful with this if you try it! Use a very light hand, it does not take much. I use both sides just for brows.

E.L.F under eye concealer and highligher duo 3-4$
I'm not crazy about the highlighter part. You can't tell its even on, so I dislike that end of the product. The concealer side on the other hand is great! I use it for my under eyes only. I did however, try it on some blemishes on my face, and it didn't work. The coverage is a little to light for that, and the formula is a little watery. But for my horrible dark circles, it worked great. The only other thing I dislike is, it dries REALLY fast. If you wait 5 seconds to long, it's very hard to blend out. But overall, good product. Good for brightening up your eyes and making you look more awake.

L-Concealer in Fair, R-Highlighter

Milani Liquifeye Eye Liner $5-6

My first milani eye liner from this line! I've heard roaring great reviews, so when I spotted it, I snatched it up right away. I wasn't dissappointed, but I don't agree with all the hype. The colors are gorgeous, and the pigment is AWESOME, but the staying power is just okay. After just like 2 or 3 hours, I could see I needed to re-apply it..I don't have time during the day to do that. In my purse eyeliner, is not one of the make-up items I bring with me to re-apply, just because..well, the eyeliner I generally wear, I don't have to do that. I will still probably use it, but not for a day at work when I really just don't have time to keep doing touch-ups. Although, I still do want to try a couple more colors. Maybe it was just the color. Maybe it was just a bad batch? I have no clue.

Swatch-

What do you think of these items if you have tried them? Especially the Milani liner. Do you have the same problem?

Thanks for reading you guys!!:) I am going shopping at Ulta today, so I will have another haul up in a couple days. YAY for shopping!

April Favorites!

My first favorite is my Urban Decay Ammo Palette. This isn't by any means new to me, and you can tell by how beat up it looks! But I adore it. It has awesome colors. You can do a neutral look, day looks, night looks, bright ones. This palette is def. one of my favorites by them. If you have used UD you know their shadows are superrrrrr shimmery. The only problem I ever have with the palettes is the fall out, but i've just learned to do my eye make up first with it, and foundation later when it comes to these. If you haven't tried UD, I suggest you do! The color pay off is great and they have amazing pigmentation. I will have a post up soon with swatches, and a FOTD with it:) This palette is one of their less expensive ones, and you can get it for 38.00 which is a great price for 10 of their shadows.

Also by UD is the De Slick setting spray. Not full sized, obviously. This was a gift with purchase. This size is usually about 10$ though. You put it on before you do your make up and after as well. It's getting HOT, and this is around the time when I get really, really oily. So I tried this just in time. When its out I will for sure by the full size. It kept my oil completley controlled. I did not look shiny ONE BIT. It is a good make up setter! It keeps everything in place.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in "Dollface"
This is my first blush my Tarte. I currently use their foundation, and have tried tons of stuff by them and i've never been disappointed yet. I just think this color is so pretty and perfect for spring. It doesn't have warm or cool tones to it, which I love. It's completely neutral and will look flattering on ALL skin shades. It is advertized as you are supposed to be able to wear it for 12 hours straight and it look fresh still. THAT I don't know about. Don't get me wrong, the pigmentation is fine, it's very good. But i've worn it for 8 hours, and I would say around the time I took it off it looked like it faded a little. But i'm okay with it. I don't mind re applying it because it is so pretty. It's a light, baby pink color. Here is a swatch-

I can't remember the exact price but I think they run for about 25.00, maybe 28.00 and I WOULD buy another.

Keeping with the pink theme! I have been reaching for my Revlon Lip Butter in "Sweet Tart."

I'm not going to rant to much about these, there are so so many reviews. I was thinking about making a post and swatching the ones I have and reviewing them, but i'm not sure if I will. There is so many already! But I LOVE these. They are perfect for people who hate lipstick but want to add color to their lips. They are creamy, make your lips soft, and for a lip butter have crazy pigmentation. I find they last a good while too, maybe about 5 hours? I always get compliments wearing this.

They are about 7 bucks! Such a steal.

Benefit boxed power in "Georgia Peach"
28.00
Discontinued.

This product is discontinued, which sucks. But i'm glad I got it when I did. You could find it online i'm sure and for much cheaper. A lot of people think this is a BLUSH though and it is not. So when I seen horrible reviews for it I couldn't understand it. And it's because people think it's a blush. It's a face powder. And it smells really good ^_^ But i've been using it as a highlight and I love, love it. Really simple and light peachy gold color, very subtle, but totally build-able if you want it to be not as subtle.

Boscia Balancing Facial Toner

I only have one skincare product this month as a favorite. My skincare routine is pretty much the same, for months at a time. I don't change it often. But I have never used a toner before. I received this free to review. It retails for 24.00. I love it! It calms my skin down A LOT. My skin is ultra sensitive, so i'm always nervous using new products. But this didn't irritate it at all. It got rid of some of my redness, and it is a really good for hydrating. It has a lot of product in there, so I like that. You can't tell in the picture but the toner itself is a light pink color. It is also good at getting any dirt or yucky stuff out of your skin that your cleanser didn't get. I bought this with me on a car ride from Texas to Florida, and in the car my skin actually gets dry. So I would just spray this, and it fixed me right up. I even had make up on, and it didn't ruin it. Really refreshing!

Urban Decay 24-7 Glide on Pencil in Demolition
18.00

I have recently switched from black to brown eyeliner for my water line. It doesn't look as harsh! It is water proof, smudge proof, and doesn't budge through out the day. Very long lasting.

Laura Gellar Spackle Under Make Up Primer in "Bronze"
25-30.00(I can't remember!)

Sorry, about the lighting! It was so dang bright in my house. It is a bronzey make-up primer, you can wear alone or under make up. I started using this a few weeks ago, and I am loving it. If you have light skin, don't be afraid to use this. It's not dark at all, but does give you a gorgeous glow. It doesn't feel nasty like those silicone feeling primers, this feels like a moisturizer. It is perfect for smoothing out your skin to prep it for foundation. If I am feeling lazy and don't want to wear make up, I usually just put this on to add some warmth to my skin and even it up a bit.

Studio Gear Stippling Brush

This brush was ridiculously expensive. But well worth it. Not a fan of ALL SG brushes, but this one was a keeper for me. It's very soft, and dense, which I like, and gives me a good coverage, and hasn't shed once yet.

Thanks for reading:) What were your favorites this month?

~Heather

Too Faced "Natural At Night!" and FOTD

The colors featured in this palette are:
Full Moon: Shimmery champagne color.
Night Cap: Light brown with a satin finish.
Cocoa Star: Dark brown. Matte.
Night Light: Shimmery, light chocolate brown.
After Hours: Shimmery taupe.
Eclipse: Deep burgandy.
Spotlight: Matte. Beige, but it has yellow undertones.
Moon Stone: Deep green with golden shimmer.
Night fever: Black with green under tones.
The packaging is the same concept as the majority of the Too Faced Palettes. It opens up, has 3 cards in it, to demonstrate how to do 3 looks using the styles Night, Classic, and a Fashion eye. It has the magnetic in it to keep it closed also like the others, and 9 colors. 7 of them being shimmers and 3 of them being matte. It retails for 37$ at Ulta and Sephora and is one of their newer palettes. It's very purse friendly considering, the palettes are a lot more sleek and slim, from how they used to be. They were bulky little suckers! So personally, i'm glad they took out the little drawer with the brush. Wasn't a fan of that.

To create this eye look I used:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
NYX jumbo pencil in "Milk" for the Inner corners.
The shadow "Night light" on the inner 3rd of my eye.
"Moon Stone" on the lid
"Night Fever" in the outer V and crease.
Lorac Pro Liner in Black to darken my lash line.
Too Faced Metallic Eye Liner in "Black Beauty" on my waterline, but I didn't bring it all the way out.

*I love Too Faced palettes. They haven't yet disappointed me, and for the quality they give, I don't mind spending the 37$ on them. Even though the colors are shimmery, I haven't had a problem at all with any fall out, as long as i'm doing the patting motion.
*The color pay off is amazing. They don't fade AT ALL, they stay beautiful and vibrant, so being highly pigmented and crease resistant is a big plus for me.
*They blend easily, have a gorgeous, silky texture allowing it to apply nice and smooth.
*And even though it says Natural at Night, you can easily modify the colors to make a pretty and wearable day time look.

My favorite colors out of this palette are Full Moon, Eclipse, and Moonstone.

I definitely going to do at least one more FOTD with this, maybe more. I want to use the color Eclipse. In my opinion eclipse is a really good dupe for MAC's eyeshadow "Sable."

Overall, I would recommend it.

I hope you ladies are having a wonderful day! For once, it is not absurdly hot in Texas, and it feels awesome outside:) Perfect Spring weather!
